my journey

Hey There! My name is Aziz. Read on to learn more about my journey through travel and find out why I created Hopeful Wanderers…
The idea is very simple… to travel and to grow together.

Travelling has done many things for me but most importantly it has been a great teacher.
When I first started travelling I didn’t really have any sense of what it meant for me. I was mostly led by my curiosity.

As many do, I chased capital after capital and landmark after landmark. Along the way I have seen beautiful sights and collected many joyful memories.

While travelling aimlessly was fun it also opened my eyes to the fact that there were many paths to walk in life than the one I had been brought up into.

All the lands and cultures I explored helped me grow as a person and thought me a great deal about life and humanity.
This eventually led to a journey of lifetime that I now found myself on…

Travelling got me to question everything I knew about how to be. I was no longer willing to follow the path that I was programmed/expected to follow. I wanted so much more from life

It was my biggest nightmare was to have lived a limited experience. I wanted my life to be as rich and as colourful as possible. After all, we all get one shot at life so why not make the most of it.

Travelling has been my most trusted tool since I embarked on this journey. It was through travelling I learned how to deconstruct my limited mindset and programming and take the first steps for a more authentic and meaningful expression of life.

By fully opening myself to new experiences, places and people, I experienced states of mind, and range of feelings and emotions that I didn’t even know existed. I can’t even begin to describe the satisfaction and happiness this brought to my life.

I was already learning so much through my experience and was truly amazed by the things that I had discovered but I also knew that I had barely scratched the surface.

Finding yourself in these uncharted waters, you see how limited your sense of self is. My personal experience with travel made it clear to me that I knew very little about myself… who I was and who I wanted to be…

Trying to discover who I truly was and who I wanted to be was no easy task. But It was also clear that only through this journey of self discovery, I could find meaning in life and carve my own path.

This shift in mindset completely changed how I travelled. Instead of aimlessly ticking places off a list, I started consciously seeking out places and experiences that would help me grow in my journey. After a few solo trips with this intention, I was amazed with the outcome.

I felt more alive than I ever did. I found myself in places that filled my heart with so much love and happiness. It is overwhelming to see how much our hearts are really capable of.
It changed the rhythm in which I moved through life.

As the saying goes, you become what you think and attract what you feel. By embracing this path, I was more grounded, present and mindful and ever. My heart was fully open and my mind was free of all judgement, excited to discover what lied ahead of me. I also started to attract people with similar values and forged more meaningful friendships. The connections that I built with people along my journey were reflective of my new state of being, deeper and more genuine than ever.

With this in mind, I created Hopeful Wanderers as a community for people who are interested in growth and self exploration through travel.
